In Delhi, 25,890 electric vehicles were sold in the first six months of 2022, according to a media report.
EVs made up 9.3 percent of all the vehicles registered in the national capital this year as of June 30. The percentage of EVs was 12.6% in the month of March. Additionally, 143 EVs were registered this year on average each day.
For the entire year of 2021, the share of EVs was 5.6 percent. 25,814 EVs were sold overall throughout the course of the year. Only 12,381 EVs were registered in 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic’s impact on vehicle sales. In Delhi, 23,222 electric vehicles were registered in 2019 and 20,973 EVs were sold in 2018.
The first six months of 2022 has seen a total 25,890 EVs being sold in the city, higher than the total number sold in any single year since 2018. EVs accounted for 9.3% of all vehicles registered in the national capital this year till June 30, up from 5.6% recorded in the whole of 2021
